We have Walls...
(October 25, 2010)

“The block is in!”
The Block Is In. Blocks are ready
Future Pictures What will the Y look like after renovations
“The contractor’s sign depicting what we anticipate the Y looking like in the near future”
(September 16, 2010)

(August 31, 2010)

The floor is now complete. The next step will be to build the walls. The construction will be on a very short hiatus until the block comes in, sometime in the next week or two. We would like to continue to remind members to please sign in each time they visit. We would also like to thank you all for your continued support and understanding during this exciting, yet stressful time of change.

"Renovation Foundation Nears Compleation"

(Aug 4, 2010)

Let the Construction Begin!
New Handicap Accessible Ramp at the rear of the building

Starting on Tuesday, July 6th the main front entrance will be blocked off and work will begin.

6/30/2010 –
The new handicap accessible ramp is complete at what will be the temporary entrance at the rear of the building (next to outdoor basketball court).

Please be patient as there will be some inconveniences for members and participants. We will create a new handicap parking space near the temporary entrance. Parking is available on all side streets around the YMCA block. Members will still need to sign in at the front desk before they begin their workout.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

Groundbreaking

The groundbreaking took place on Wednesday June 16 at 2pm. We had the 4 executive directors of the RVR YMCAs, Bradford County YMCA Board members, RVR Board members, Towanda Borough's Supervisor Tom Fairchild, as well representatives from Tina Pickett's office, Chesapeake Energy, and Grimm's Construction.

The project will be a $520,000 expansion/renovation which will add 3,000 additional square feet. This area will include a new cardio room, a new multipurpose room (which can be used for group exercise classes, community events, or childwatch), we will also be adding new offices, and thanks to a $50,000 donation from Chesapeake Energy, we will be adding a teaching kitchen/cafe.
